Each April, the Gunnison Arts Center proudly showcases the exceptional talents of Gunnison High School’s junior and senior art students. This annual exhibition is the culmination of years of creative growth, highlighting the skill and dedication of students in their third and fourth year of the art program. Featuring a wide variety of mediums and personal styles, the show offers a vibrant look into the next generation of artists. Join us throughout the month as we celebrate these emerging young creators and their inspiring work. Explore all the Senior Students work at the Cy Baird Gallery and all Junior artists in the Nancy Tredway Gallery.

Karen is a watercolor artist and educator whose work reflects decades of dedication to

experimentation, expression, and the evolving possibilities of the medium. Born and

raised in northern Utah, she began studying art at an early age and has continued her

artistic development through workshops and mentorship with established artists,

including the late Anton J. Rasmussen and Willamarie Huelskamp. While formally

trained, Karen believes that artistic growth is most deeply shaped through curiosity,

exploration, and time spent painting.
