PERFORMANCE: Friday, August 1 at 6:00 pm in the GAC Theatre. FREE.
Class Line-up:
Elementary Level (3rd-5th Grade): 11:00-12:00pm.

Secondary Level (9th-12th): 3:00 – 4:00pm.
Destination Imagination (DI) prepares kids to be the innovators of the future by combining the arts, sciences, and technology with creativity, teamwork, and problem solving. This non-profit organization is primarily run by volunteers. Teams from five to seven members from Elementary to High School levels work over the course of a few months to solve an open-ended Main Challenge and practice Instant Challenges. The most unique aspect to DI is that this program is participant-driven! There is absolutely no adult or outside help allowed. Team Managers are there to supervise, provide resources and teach skills, promote teamwork, and encourage creative problem-solving. Team members generate the ideas and bring them to life. The experience culminates in an 8-minute performance showcasing the team solution to the Main Challenge. The GAC will be piloting DI: Colorado’s summer experience to initiate engagement for the upcoming challenge season. This summer experience is brought to you by the GAC, a DI: Colorado alum, and a grant from DI: Colorado. www.dicolorado.com.

Valley of Fools Clown Workshops
Sunday | June 8
"Big Feelings, Big Fun!"
10:00 am – 12:00 pm.
Kindergarten – 2nd Grade.
In this playful workshop, our youngest clowns will explore the joy of being exactly who they are—silly, wiggly, loud, quiet, curious, or wild. Through games, movement, and big imagination, we'll practice embracing our uniqueness, celebrating our feelings, and playing together with kindness. No experience needed—just a big heart (We will provide the red noses :)).
"Play Loud, Be Proud!"
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm.
3rd – 5th Grade.
In this high-energy workshop, kids will learn how to use clowning to express themselves, build confidence, and find the funny in everyday life. We'll work with our bodies, faces, and voices to explore characters, tell stories, and discover how awesome it is to laugh at ourselves. It’s a safe space to be bold, be weird, and be totally you.
"The Freedom of Foolishness"
5:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
Adults 16+
This workshop invites adults to reconnect with the inner child that still lives inside of us—the one who used to leap before looking, giggle without guilt, and play without purpose. Through movement, vulnerability, and lots of laughter, we’ll explore how clowning can free us from perfection, reconnect us to joy, and remind us how deeply human it is to be a little ridiculous sometimes.

This workshop is a great way to develop an idea for your next work and is suitable for writers of plays, screenplays, short stories and creative nonfiction.
