Cy Baird GAllery

The Cy Baird Gallery is the flagship gallery located on the first floor between our theatre and the entry foyer. This state of the art gallery has unique architectural features creating accent walls for artwork. The North wall is movable for special events which presents opportunities for increased traffic through the gallery and collaborations between the Gallery and the theatre area. These movable walls are not suited for hanging artwork but can be used for didactic's, written word, etc, and have enough clearance to hang mat board. The square footage of the gallery is approximately 875 square feet with  approximately 75 feet of usable wall space

Riding the Range: A Saddle Story

Riding the Range: A Saddle Story

A Group Exhibition

This is the secondannual bike-themed exhibition, coinciding with the Gunnison Growler Bike Race. The show explores the shared use of land by mountain bikers and ranchers in the Gunnison Valley, where leather saddles symbolize a link between two distinct worlds. Cyclists traverse rugged trails that ranchers work, and many ranches open their lands to the public, fostering engagement with the valley’s unique terrain. Through mutual respect and practical cooperation, bikers and ranchers balance recreation and tradition on the same ground.

Exhibition Dates May 2nd - June 26th

Vision Weaving | A solo show with Amanda Sage + The Vision Train community

Vision Weaving  | A solo show with Amanda Sage + The Vision Train community

Vision Weaving is a solo exhibition by artist Amanda Sage, offering a window into a lifelong prayer expressed through her art. This marks her first solo show in four years, delving into personal narratives woven with symbolism, cultural animism, and the language of visionary art.

The exhibit serves as both a retrospective—featuring over 27 years of paintings and drawings created around the world—and a living work of art. It interlaces a series of talks, workshops, and in-person gatherings, while also connecting with a global network of creatives through the Vision Train, an international art movement Amanda initiated in 2020.

Based in Gunnison, Colorado, Amanda creates from the cultural hub known as South Main Gunnison ‘an industrial park for good’ and a Vision Train Station—where she collaborates with her co-creative partner, Joe Bob Merritt.

Exhibition Dates: June 28th - July 28th

Threads of Passage

Threads of Passage

A Group Exhibition

Migration is movement, memory, and resilience—a journey marked by both personal stories and shared traditions.

"Threads of Passage" brings together contemporary and traditional artisans who have migrated to the Gunnison Valley.

An interactive map invites visitors to place monarch butterflies where they are from, symbolizing the migration patterns that connect the Gunnison Valley to Central and South America.

The exhibition features indigenous textile makers from Mexico and a Peruvian artisan, whose works embody ancestral craft and cultural identity.

Alongside them, Mexican photographer and visual artist Álvaro Alejandro López presents a body of work exploring the power of books and storytelling, enriched by the words of literary voices from around the world.

Together, these works create a dialogue between movement and memory, craft and contemporary vision—offering a space to reflect on the interconnected stories that shape us all.

Exhibition Dates: August 1st - Sept 20th
