Abra Karbin

Coming from the north suburbs of Chicago, Abra has lived in Gunnison for the past 9 years. Abra went to school for ceramics and graduated with her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2013. Ceramics has been her passion since she took her first clay class in 2009. Abra mostly focuses on functional work but in undergrad she focused heavily on large sculptural work. Abra has been exploring tile making for home decor lately and has been working on some remodels in her home with her handmade tile.

Abra has a two year old who is absolutely amazing and she is so thankful to be her mom. Her partner is very patient with her and supportive of her wild imagination. She loves teaching and being able to be as involved with the community as she is.
