Galleries
Every month, the galleries at the Gunnison Arts Center are filled with local and visiting artists exhibitions. Ranging from photography, sculpture, paintings, installations, community open shows and more, there is always something new and fresh to view and experience. The Main Gallery is located on the main floor in the historic portion of the building. The Nancy Tredway Gallery, is located on the second floor with amazing natural light and great views of downtown Gunnison. Our newest gallery, The Cafe Gallery, is located towards the back of the building by our recently updated Clay Studio. The Galleries are free to enter and are open during regular operating hours. Dance Studio
From ballet to tap and hip hop to aerial, movers and shakers of all ages and skill levels will find something they enjoy at the Gunnison Arts Center School of Dance! Offering classes, workshops and events. Monthly Dance “AND Series Events” held in the dance studio during the winter, and on the outdoor courtyard during the summer months.

All classes are held in the GAC Dance Studio at 102 S. Main St. Second Floor.
Clay Studio
The Gunnison Arts Center Clay Studio is housed in the new addition, with lots of natural light and easy access via the GAC courtyard. The studio space includes eight potters’ wheels, two kilns, a slab roller, extruder and several throwing and hand building tools.
The Clay Studio offers a variety of classes year round, paint your own pottery sessions, private lessons, independent study opportunities and kiln rentals. Class offerings include wheel throwing and handbuilding instruction with a wide variety of skills and techniques for different age groups and skill levels.
The Paint Your Own Pottery schedule for September – December 2022 is Wednesdays & Thursdays 1 – 4 pm. First Fridays 2 – 5 pm & First Saturdays 10 am – 1 pm. Walk – in’s welcome! Take home kits available!

Visual Arts Studios
The Gunnison Arts Center Visual Arts Program offers youth and adults a variety of classes to choose from year-round. The after-school art classes for youth compliment and build upon skills learned in the K-12 art programs, offering opportunities to work in a variety of mediums. Weekend workshops for residents, regional artists and visitors are offered throughout the year. There is always a new class to choose from as well as continuing favorites. The GAC brings visiting artists from around the country to share their techniques with art students of all levels in the Gunnison Valley. Have fun in the once-a-month AND Series Events, where adults can enjoy a cocktail while learning a new art form.

Black Box Theatre
The Black Box Theater located in the historic section of the Gunnison Arts Center is the perfect setting for the Performing Arts! Featuring Moonlight Concert Series, community plays, youth acting camps, literary readings, poetry slams, and more!
With a seating capacity of 72, it is available for rent by outside theater companies and groups. Youth and adult theater classes and programming are offered year-round and there are always opportunities for local thespians and directors to get involved. Literary Arts
The Gunnison Arts Center Literary Arts Program is for readers, writers, poets and lovers of books! Our program offers a variety of classes, poetry readings and book talks to choose from year-round. Students of all levels will find something to enjoy.
The Courtyard
The GAC’s outdoor courtyard includes a raised stage with unique outdoor lighting and beautiful flowers during the summer months. Summer art classes, AND Series events, live music, and more are offered on the courtyard. This space is available to rent for private parties, graduation parties, wedding receptions, and more.

First Friday ArtWalk & Music
The Gunnison Arts Center’s monthly ArtWalks feature musicians performing live in the Main Gallery during colder months and on the outdoor Courtyard Stage June – September. Complete with a bar (indoor and outdoor) and dance floor space (outdoor), these fun one-night concerts are paired with gallery openings not to miss!

Sundays @ 6 FREE Concert Series
Join us under the big trees of Legion Park on the corner of Tomichi Avenue and Teller Street on Sunday evenings from 6:00 – 8:00 pm for FREE live music and community family fun. This long standing tradition has continued over the year, come rain or shine, featuring the music of local and regional bands. See you there!
