The Shop at The Gunnison Arts Center is a colorful assemblage of beautiful artwork and creative gifts created by talented local artists. The purpose of The Shop is to offer an affordable place for visitors and community members to purchase local art.
My primary focus as an artist is pottery. I consider myself a painter and also have tattooing experience. I have finally been able to incorporate my three passions into my ceramic work, which is the focus of my newer work. My goals in ceramics are to keep exploring new techniques for surface design, to continue establishing my style, and to continue expanding my audience.
There’s something about the processes of working with clay that just keeps me wanting more, whether it’s throwing on the wheel, imprinting with tools and stamps, or carving a design into the surface of a pot. Opening a kiln to see how glazes have broken over and pooled into all of those textures and details never gets old. Using old or discarded materials to compliment my ceramics brings a different energy and excitement to my work. Dream job? Making art for everyday use.
In addition to my commercial photography business, Studio E Photography, I create fine art photographic items for simple joy. Stemming from my daily life, the chosen imagery revolves around what inspires me. I like to explore new transfer techniques & flirt with different display opportunities. Handmade wood transfer varieties, natural feeling hanging canvases, & metal dye-sublimation pieces are found in this Shop collection.
As an art educator, I taught the gamut of media, styles, and subjects, which gives me the strong range I draw upon today as a professional artist to create my watercolor and mixed media compositions. My artwork has received awards in national juried exhibitions and showcased in museums, galleries, and publications both in the United States and abroad.

Original, repurposed and upcycled jewelry
“If it can’t be reduced, reused, repaired, rebuilt, refurbished, refinished, resold, recycled, or composted, then it should be restricted, designed or removed from production.”
– Pete Seeger
In this range, items have been created, painted, swapped out. Single earrings become pendants, belts become chokers, necklaces mended, shortened, and recast.
Wood burning, (pyrography) is a passion of mine that I find very therapeutic. Years ago I fell in love with the slow-paced work, the scent of wood smoke, and the feeling of creating something unique, durable, and somehow both elegant and rustic at the same time. I also paint, tattoo, and create handmade jewelry using natural, foraged materials. My artwork is currently featured at the Paragon Gallery in Crested Butte, and The Shop at the Gunnison Arts Center.
