Main Gallery: “A Splash of Colorado”
Hosted by the Western Slope Chapter of the Colorado Watercolor Society (“CWS”), the CWS presents “A Splash of Colorado 2019,” a predominantly watermedia exhibition of original paintings created by artists residing in Colorado. This is an opportunity to share your best paintings representing the diverse styles and techniques of the watercolor medium. The show will be juried by Colorado artist Peggy Morgan Stenmark. Peggy will announce the exhibit’s awards at the reception during the First Friday ArtWalk in August, as well as hold a one-day workshop the following day at the Center for the Arts Crested Butte.
The exhibit is open to all Colorado artists; membership in the Colorado Watercolor Society is encouraged. All those interested in submitting artwork for consideration should visit the CWS’s website for the prospectus and rules regarding entries for the show and registration for the workshop.
Upper Gallery: Tiny Treasures “Mother Earth”
Celebrate the little things in life! The GAC’s annual Tiny Treasures gallery fundraiser is back in its fifth year. The Upper Gallery will feature a plethora of tiny artwork on canvas, watercolor paper, and more, all created by local novice and professional artists. These treasures will be on sale at affordable prices all month where 100% of the profit will benefit the GAC. This year’s theme will focus on our Mother Earth, showcasing her in all her glory, from her highest mountain tops, to her big blue oceans.
Thank you to our Tiny Treasures sponsor!
