September in our Galleries

Come check out our September galleries whenever we are open!

  • Main Gallery: “Home Again” by Connie Schlepp Weiskopf
Connie, a native of Colorado, graduate of Western State Colorado University and former longtime Gunnison resident, commands a masterful technique in her elegantly rendered watercolors, addressing a wide range of subjects from florals and still life’s to equestrian figures in city scenes.  “HOME AGAIN” focuses on the Gunnison Valley and Colorado beauty, where Connie calls home. Connie loves to spend time fly-fishing the many beautiful rivers in her home state, skiing and golfing.   She draws on her personal experience and the beauty of God’s creation for her inspiration.
  • Tredway Gallery: “Bodies at Rest” by Paige Stewart
Paige Stewart’s show ‘Bodies at Rest’ looks at Isaac Newton’s First Law of Motion “A body at rest stays at rest unless a force acts upon it” these abstract ceramic sculptures capture how the laws of physics manifest in the body; especially as it relates to mental health and the experience of depression.  In this series the human form is depicted in various states of rest or lack of inertia, and how the state of depression seems to prolong itself into eternal moments of collapsing time and stagnation unless a force acts upon it.
